This charming 3-bedroom main cabin is open year-round, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere no matter the season. The guest cottage is available from April to November, perfect for additional space when needed.
The property boasts a sandy beach and a swimming area, ideal for cooling off on warm days or lounging by the water. Relax on the lakeside beach with ample seating and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets that make this location so special. For added fun, we offer plenty of water toys for guests to enjoy on the lake.
In the evenings, cozy up by the fireplace and unwind with loved ones. The conversation piece outdoor furniture by the firepit provides the perfect setting for evening chats under the stars. The gorgeous loft in the cabin adds an extra layer of charm, whether it’s for extra sleeping space or just a peaceful retreat to take in the views.

PET POLICY
Sunsets on upper hay is pet friendly with prior approval, a signed pet addendum, and a fee of $50 per day. Max 2 pets allowed. Fee applied to reservation after booking is made. On top of the pet fee, there will be an additional fee starting at $150 if we deem there is damage to the property regarding your pets stay.

• Quiet hours are between the hours of 10 pm to 7 am, Sunday through Thursday; and 12 am to 7 am, Friday and Saturday. No loud music, screaming/yelling, etc.
• No parties are allowed; this includes bachelor/bachelorette, etc.
• Noise complaints will result in fines and citations from local law enforcement

Awesome location!
by BreannaWe loved our time spent at the Sunsets on Upper Hay with our extended family and would highly recommend it! It’s a perfect location with a ton of fun activities to do nearby. One of our favorite things about this property was the peaceful evenings on the patio visiting and watching the sunsets. The lake doesn’t have a lot of traffic and is great for catching pan fish, crappies, and bass right off the dock. This property has a lot of amenities for all ages. The kids enjoyed swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, playing on the beach, and catch in the yard. We took the lily pad out to the middle of the lake often and had a blast. Thank you to the team that made our visit memorable!
Beautiful setting
by Silja Knoll10 of us enjoyed staying at this place. The kayaks and SUP were very much appreciated. The house was beautiful, one head scratcher was that the second bathroom in the larger house only had a bathtub with no opportunity to take a shower. This meant 8 of used used one shower… but it’s lovely and I wouldn’t let that stop anyone from staying here.
Idyllic WFC family/group rental
by NataliaLoved the feel of this place from the second we pulled up to the quiet culdesac - nestled in a quiet bay of Rush Lake on the Whitefish Chain with ample privacy for a populated area and sandy, excellent swimming beach and perfect for off the dock fishing! This home feels stately and well built and also cozy at the same time. Perfect night time sunset views in the bay while grilling and dining on the deck. Love the addition of the hot tub that looks out over the fire pit, dock and lake views. The home was perfect for a family and friends stay, with the cutest upstairs bunk room loft/bathroom, equipped with great kids books, games and reading nook - we also highly enjoyed the Lily Pad out at the South Bay sand bar just minutes from the rental on the chain! Cooking was a breeze even for a group in this kitchen and we spent hours hanging out and chatting/playing games with friends and family in the upstairs living room, by the fire pit and downstairs bar area/hot tub and lawn with games! We caught lots of pan fish right off the dock with kids and didn’t want to leave… would stay again in a heart beat!
Beautiful, well-kept property!
by JohnResponsive hosts. We had a great time! It was the perfect winter getaway for us—cozy cabin with a very warm fireplace and a nice firepit right on the lake.
My family had beautiful weekend here. Enjoying time on the beach, eating lunch on the rocking chairs, watching movies late into the evening and the stunning bedroom looking out onto the lake, we could not have asked for anything better. We will absolutely be coming back any chance we get.
We had a wonderful time at this cabin! It’s very open and very clean. When we got there we were welcomed with a card, really good coffee for the morning, and an amazing pie from the restaurant down the road. There are board games and cards to play, also a beautiful fire pit right by the lake! We have stayed here before in the summer and so many things to do. Fishing right off the dock, swimming, kayaking, and some hiking. Going back in the fall was just as much fun! So many beautiful colors, and amazing shopping in Pequot, and Nisswa! We will definitely be going back, and highly recommend this cabin!
